SABA
A truly marvelous place! I have been fortunate to visit this amazing island on 3 occasions and was almost tempted to relocate there…
Saba is a Caribbean Island in the Lesser Antilles chain…a non-active volcanic island 5 miles square with one road to drive a car. It is very mountainous and steep but is home to some amazing flora.
There is an awesome hike up to Mt. Scenery where you can observe some symbiotic relationships between orchids and various trees.
Saba's entire island is protected by the Conservancy and I was unable to get permission to collect specimen in the wild. However, I was fortunate to collect these plants because they were plentiful at the homes we rented while there.

Bougainvillea sp. growing abundantly as schrubs.
